Mining Magazines For Mining Investors

This is an Information Age web site, selling mining equipment by information.

So, what is the difference...
...between the traditional, “Come on down to Billy Bobs, and let me tell you everything you need to know about jigs — hell, I will even dance a polka to get your business,” and a virtual internet consignment lot for used mining equipment?

Basically it is the fact that the seller is no longer in control of how “good” information is distributed. The flip side is that customers have access to “negative” information some dealers do not particularly want those in the market for used mining equipment, to know.

Some dealers —most likely those with flapping flags on their lots, shouting “come on in”— realizing that potential customers may be letting their computers doing the walking, think they can compete with the internet by spam mailing hit lists to any e-mail that might have anything to do at all with mining.

This is missing the point, as Bram XXXXXXX of Blah-Blah Equipment in Pennsylvania, who has been clogging the in-boxes of all of our miningmagazines.com publications for a number of years with spam e-mails containing huge photos of equipment that take forever to download. The “kick you in the ass,” part of Bram’s totally ignoring our requests to be taken off of his hit list, is that the reverse side to his message, “When it comes to used mining equipment, trust us to know your needs!” is not exactly true anymore. Or, in Bram’s situation, the standard “We listen, we care,” may be a total fabrication, as he has not responded to our numerous pleas of, “cut it out!” by hiding behind a spammers typical blind address.

The power of accessing information with this tool...
...is that you get the facts needed to make a valid buying decision, without having to rely of a good old boy salesman’s trial closing, “trust me, I know exactly what you need."
straight from the "horses mouth," You do not have to expose yourself to arm twisting by some high pressure salesman. Free access to just the facts, This in a day and time when Enron has set the standard of playing the game, " I win, you loose.”

Potential equipment buyers come to this site — are you one? — by searching for information on, say, jigs, that may be available. Even If a dealers name was typed into a search engine, along with “ + jigs,” it is very possible that one of the hits on page one of the recommended sites containing a jig for sale, will be mining-equipment.org. Why? Our purpose is not to buid a brand name, for profit, as we already own "mining-equipment.org." Our mission is to connect those in need of selling a piece of mining equipment no longer needed in an operation, as a jig, to someone in need of exactly that tool to help get the job done.

So, at the risk of sounding like a used mining equipment salesman, I need to explain, openly, our 'business.'
We, along with our magazines (that have an agenda of selling mining properties) have actual mining operations experience, and know the frustration of listening to sales representatives who think that dismantling a piece of equipment and hauling it into a lot for repainting, is somehow “saving us money.” We have been on the other side, too, where the dealer/broker/buyer somehow confuses a very workable tool, as a pile of junk.

Most of all we have lived out the frustration of driving hundreds of miles to take a look at something advertised in an out-of-date publication, only to end up in a negotiating war, where the hammer being used against the buyer is the value of his own time and travel expenses.

We are hoping that the strength of our video...
...“what-you-see is what-you-get” clips of the actual piece provided the buyer, along with the seller knowing that in the Information Age he cannot hide misinformation, will lead to pre-visit negotiations, without game playing for unfair advantage. The teeth in this proviso for even being considered for listing is that we also can report, in time, as E-Bay does, a buyer and sellers rating.

Our premise is that we are facilitators, building an mining equipment exchange site, that uses total disclosure information on the www (which we feel should stand for win-win-win) as a way to help fellow operators survive in mining — as the Lord knows, a tough enough business as it is, without the financial drain of the ‘Slogan People.’

Our business plan requires a large enough response from seller’s to list, and buyers to buy, to actually make a database work. Until we have become established in the search engines where we want to be (other than working of the numbers brought in through our popularity with our own mining magazines), with a proven track record of facilitating sales, the “cost” of being listed here is open to discussion at info@miningeqipment.org
